Dawnstone

Privacy

Last updated: May 10, 2026

Dawnstone is built by Dongjun Kim, an independent developer, and is designed to be private by default. We collect the minimum data needed to operate the app and never sell or share your information with advertisers.

What we collect

On your device: Dawnstone stores your settings, notification preferences, and which cards you've seen. This data stays on your iPhone and is not transmitted to our servers.

Anonymous analytics: We use PostHog to understand how features are used — which screens are opened, paywall conversion rates, feature engagement. These events are tied to a randomly generated anonymous identifier, not to your Apple ID, email, or name.

Subscription data: If you purchase Pro, RevenueCat (our subscription provider) processes the transaction and tracks subscription status. This is necessary to grant Pro access across your devices. RevenueCat receives a randomly generated anonymous identifier — never your Apple ID directly.

Crash diagnostics: We may collect crash reports via Apple's standard diagnostic system if you have crash reporting enabled in iOS Settings. These reports contain no personal identifiers.

What we don't collect

  • Your name, email, or phone number
  • Your location
  • Your contacts, photos, or other device data
  • Any data shared with advertisers or data brokers
  • Cross-app or cross-site tracking identifiers

Apple receives standard purchase information

When you purchase Pro through the App Store, Apple processes the payment using your Apple ID. Apple's privacy policy governs that transaction. We never see your credit card or Apple ID.

Children

Dawnstone is rated 4+ and contains no objectionable content. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, regardless of age, beyond the anonymous analytics described above.

Data deletion

All on-device data is removed when you delete the app. Anonymous analytics tied to your device's random identifier remain in our aggregate analytics dataset but cannot be linked back to you. If you want subscription data fully removed from RevenueCat, email us — see Support.

Changes to this policy

If we change anything material about data collection, we'll update this page and note the change date at the top.
